Welcome to Westville Schools...Home of the Blackhawks!

The school community of Westville is a place where families choose to send their students.

Staff members are empowered to teach and all students and staff are accepted and celebrated.

Students are encouraged to become complex thinkers, caring individuals, and community contributors within a safe, well-maintained environment that is conducive to learning.

This is what we believe at MSD of New Durham Township, and it is this vision that drives our focus and establishes the foundation of our learning community every single day.  We strive to create a positive, caring, and supportive learning environment for all within the walls of our school, and we hope that the spirit of that environment follows our students as they pass through our doors into the world.

Welcome to Westville Schools!

You are likely aware that the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is monitoring the spread of a new virus, COVID-19, in the United States.  At this time, no known cases of COVID-19 exist in our immediate area; however, health officials state that it is probable that the virus will become more widespread throughout the US within the next several weeks.

Concern in regard to this virus is primarily due to the fact that it is a new form of the coronavirus that the human population has not encountered before.  As a result, the body’s natural defense system is minimal, and there are no drugs or vaccines that can help to protect or limit the infection.  Despite this, the virus is presenting with mild cold-like symptoms in most cases, and the most severe cases have involved individuals with additional medical complications.  Reports from China also indicate that children generally have presented with mild symptoms, and pediatric complications have been uncommon.

Nonetheless, MSD of New Durham Township is committed to proactively taking measures to promote the health and wellness of all students and staff during this, and any other, cold and flu season.  Please CLICK HERE to find an excerpt from our School Safety Plan that addresses Contagious Virus Preparedness.  Please review this plan and talk to your children about the steps they can take while at school to minimize risk of infection.  Included in this plan is also a guide for families to use to determine when a child should be kept home from school.

As always, if you have any questions or specific concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
