Welcome to Westville Schools...Home of the Blackhawks!

The school community of Westville is a place where families choose to send their students.

Staff members are empowered to teach and all students and staff are accepted and celebrated.

Students are encouraged to become complex thinkers, caring individuals, and community contributors within a safe, well-maintained environment that is conducive to learning.

This is what we believe at MSD of New Durham Township, and it is this vision that drives our focus and establishes the foundation of our learning community every single day.  We strive to create a positive, caring, and supportive learning environment for all within the walls of our school, and we hope that the spirit of that environment follows our students as they pass through our doors into the world.

Welcome to Westville Schools!

2023-2024 MSD OF NEW DURHAM TOWNSHIP CALENDAR

On February 8, 2023, the MSD of New Durham Township Board of Trustees approved the academic calendar for the 2023-2024 school year.  Please be aware of the following features of this calendar, as a few components reflect a minor change from the way the calendar has been set up in the past few years:
  • The first day of school for students will be Wednesday, August 16.
  • Spring break will be the last full week of March (March 25-29).
  • The last day of school for students will be May 31.  Graduation will be held on June 8.
  • Four half-days for staff professional development have been scheduled throughout the year (highlighted in green on the calendar).  Students will be dismissed at 11:30 on each of these days.
  • Four snow-make up days have been scheduled throughout the second semester (highlighted in purple on the calendar).  These days will be used as in-session days if we need to cancel school at any point for inclement weather.  If inclement weather cancellations are not needed, the days will become vacation days.  Please be very careful planning anything on these days as there is a good chance that we will end up being in session on these days.
  • As a reminder, we are allotted up to 3 eLearning Days by the state for additional cancellations that may be needed beyond those that are rescheduled on the built in make-up days.  If we would need to have additional cancellations after the make-up days and the eLearning days have been used, we will add additional days to the end of the school year.
